Moderna (MRNA) just got a positive shot in the arm.
All after the U.S. FDA said its vaccine is safe and effective in people ages 18 and older. This now clears the way for another emergency authorization, adding to immunization efforts.
According to the agency, the vaccine is 94.1% effective at treating symptomatic COVID.

According to Bloomberg:
“The report was posted online ahead of a meeting Thursday of agency advisers who will vote whether to recommend authorization before a final FDA decision. The agency doesn’t have to follow the advice of the independent vaccine experts, though it often agrees with its advisory panels. Last week, the FDA authorized a similar vaccine from Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech after an advisory panel voted 17-4, with one abstention, to support its authorization.”
The news comes as global COVID cases reaches 72.9 million, with 1.6 million unfortunate deaths. Cases are up to 16.5 million in the U.S. In India, 9.9 million. In Brazil, 6.9 million. In Russia, 2.68 million. In France, 2.4 million. In the UK, 1.87 million.
